To be the catalyst of development in Sarawak
by providing ideas, inputs, information and knowledge
on development issues, government policies and
programmes to promote greater understanding, consciousness
and active participation in development among
the people.
Target Users
ASK Centre main target users are
members and staff of AZAM and SDI, researchers,
scholars, students of institutions of higher learning,
officers from relevant government agencies and
statutory bodies, media practitioners and grassroots
leaders

provide opportunity and improve access to
information on development issues, policies
and programmes.

To provide easy reference and input on development
issues, policies and programmes to complement
the decision and policy-making processes in
Sarawak.

contribute and complement the government's
efforts in disseminating information and knowledge
in the pursuit of creating a knowledge-based
society.
Roles
-
To provide easy access to information, knowledge
and findings on development issues, policies
and programmes affecting the State in the
forms of seminar/workshop proceedings, reports,
books, journals, newsletters and articles.

collect, organise and make available special
collections in specific subject areas such
as development communication, seminar/workshop
proceedings and research projects.

provide information services to government
bodies, non-governmental organisation, researchers,
students and individuals.

develop and contribute to relevant bibliographic
databases in the field of development communication.

participate in national and international
network of libraries and information services.

To
promote development consciousness among
the people through awareness programmes
and exhibitions.
