KUCHING: Movement for Progress, the non-governmental body better known as Azam, has launched its own YouTube channel, which will feature youth oriented content created by the target audience.
Azam Online TV launched yesterday with a series of videos, in which local personalities are given RM50 to spend in Kuching city.
The first in the series featured local musician Asyraf Hardy spending on the budget around town, while episode two will feature ERAfm DJ Afick.
“The online TV channel complements Azam’s other existing communication modes including radio and newspaper articles,” Azam chief executive Datuk Aloysius Dris said.

According to AZAM, the channel was made with development in mind, and this channel was intended to help develop the youth especially. They however note that traditional means of providing information will not be forgotten and still be used despite the availability of Azam Online TV.

The ceremony which was graced by Sarawak Chief Minister Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud saw the younger generation taking center stage as they not only entertained the guest, but was also awarded for their massive achievements in numerous events and projects made possible under AZAM.

The central provides these youths with their very own spaces to carry out their activities, including a free for use atrium at the building which also host of a cinema.

Apart from heading corporate organisations, there are also several women in Sarawak heading government departments and agencies. And judging from the feedback I received from their staff they are very good at their jobs and they manage the people under them professionally.
Some of them include Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (Azam) general manager Rosalind Yang, Sarawak Biodiversity Centre chief operating officer Dr Rita Manurung, Customs director Jamaiah Joll and Welfare Department director Noriah Ahmad.
KUCHING: Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud has proposed that Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak set up a communications institute as a new approach to reach out to the people to respond positively to the development transformation taking place in the next 20 years.
Taib, who is also Azam’s patron, said Azam could coordinate with the mass media and local government machinery as well as network with local councillors trained by them to get the people to interact through social and cultural activities.
Ketua Menteri Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud mencadangkan agar Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak menubuhkan sebuah institut komunikasi sebagai pendekatan baru mendekati rakyat supaya bertindak balas secara positif terhadap transformasi pembangunan yang berlaku dalam tempoh 20 tahun akan datang.
Abdul Taib, yang juga penaung AZAM berkata AZAM boleh menyelaras dengan media massa dan jentera kerajaan tempatan serta menjalin rangkaian dengan ahli majlis tempatan yang dilatih oleh mereka untuk membolehkan orang ramai berinteraksi melalui aktiviti sosial dan kebudayaan.
