KUCHING: Sarawak’s pua kumbu has caught the eyes of the Americans and Russians through a non-conventional way.
During a two-hour video conferencing yesterday, SMK St Teresa students Angeline Audrey and Edna Emily introduced the much sought after Iban hand-woven blanket to young audiences in Oklahoma in the United States and Ufa-shigiri in Russia.
The event was the third Internatio-nal Indigenous Youth Video Conference organised by the US State Department in collaboration with Angkatan Zaman Mansang and the State Library held at the State Library in Petra Jaya here yesterday.
The theme was “Culture and the Environment.”
