CHOO Mei Yuin of SMK St Teresa, Kuching said the Internet and newspapers had help her a lot in her award-winning essay.
The Form Four lass won the first prize in the lower urban secondary school category of the AZAM-Petronas Writers’ Awards 2009 to walk away with RM700. She wrote on the “45th Anniversary of Sarawak’s progress in Malaysia.”
“I did a lot of research from internet and newspapers for my essay, and they helped me a lot. Also, I thank my mom and my teachers for their guidance. It’s indeed a great feeling to win the first prize,” said Choo, who entered the competition for the second time last year.
